Confirmation Class

Confirmation is a part of the larger baptismal life-long process of making disciples, that is, a special time to renew baptismal promises.  It is not only an opportunity for each confirmand to ‘confirm’ his or her commitment to God and the church, but it is also a time for God and the church to publicly and visibly ‘confirm’ their commitment to the confirmand.  A major aspect of Pines approach to confirmation is the assigning of an adult mentor who seeks to develop a personal relationship with a confirmand and personally lead the confirmand through the various experiences of confirmation in worship, fellowship, and mission. At the end of the entire confirmation process, a confirmand may be able to experience his or her personal growth of faith, deeper commitment, and joy.  For questions, please contact the church office at 713-467-2234.

Mission Trips

Every Summer, the youth of Pines have an opportunity to serve on our Mission Trip. Students will travel together and work in other communities as the hands and feet
of Christ. Projects in the past have included home repair, yard work, classroom set-up, painting, and many more. To inquire about an upcoming Mission Trip, please contact the church office at 713-467-2234.

Houston Area Celebration (HAC)

Pines High School students have been active in  “Celebration” which is a weekend retreat event for high school students to explore their faith in a loving and supportive environment. Activities during the weekend include music, worship, fellowship and fun. Youth leaders guide the weekend’s activities (with the assistance of adult leaders) to provide opportunities for focusing on what it means to a young Christian in today’s world.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry exists to glorify God, share His love with students in community, and to see their lives transformed in Christ.

  • We want the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus to transform who we are, how we act, and why we love.

  • We are a place where students can find family to share life and faith and grow together.

  • We help students develop a biblically based relationship with God that helps them meet the daily challenges of life.
