Pines Presbyterian Church is offering its’ first-ever Music Theater Camp this summer, running July 22 - 26, with a final performance on July 28!

Camp is open to all children aged 5 through 14, who would like to sing, dance, and act.  Don’t worry if you don’t have any experience – that’s OUR job to help you gain it!

We will be presenting the play “Moses and the Freedom Fanatics” on Sunday, July 28, during the 10:45am worship service, followed by lunch for all the actors and their families, as well as the Pines church family.

"Moses and the Freedom Fanatics", written by Hal Hopson, is an exciting musical drama based on the Exodus story: Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt and breaking the bonds of slavery to Pharaoh. The play opens with a grand procession of slaves that disturbs King Pharaoh's quest for a good night's sleep. From that point onward, the action begins! The slaves get organized and Moses emerges as the leader of the people. The dialogue, spiced with humor throughout, tells with clarity and strong role characterization the story of the Exodus. The music includes lamentations of the slaves, a song cleverly portraying the plagues cast on Egypt, and a final song of triumph.

Rehearsals will entail script-reading and memorization, singing, movement, and acting, with some solo roles and many, many opportunities for ensemble (group) participation.  Costumes will be supplied.

Camp will run from 9:00am-2:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a snack provided.  Please bring a sack lunch each day.

Come join the fun as we tell the story of God’s triumph over slavery!
